Assignment 2

Op/Ed Piece
I have a problem, along with many other New Zealanders. You may know someone with this same problem or you may have this problem yourself.
Many New Zealanders have debt owed to WINZ or IRD. Currently debt to WINZ stands at $2.6b.
Debt is often for essential costs or to pay overdue Utility Bills. People then end up owing the debt and paying it off very slowly, since they are on a benefit and still having to pay the next essential cost or utility bill which they still can’t afford, so the debt is increased and around it goes.
There seems to be a yawning gap in logic here. This problem has existed for a long time. No government has shown an interest in doing anything about it despite saying they don’t want long term beneficiaries.
Writing to government is probably the only thing that will make any difference. Until someone acknowledges the problem and agrees to do something about it, nothing will change.
If you are in this situation, how does this affect you and your optimism about your future or your children’s future?
I could stop being a student and go back onto the Benefit, which would instantly solve my financial situation. Except I won’t because being on the Benefit has no future.
What will you determine to do?

Castello Creamy Blue Cheese for Newstalk ZB
There’s nothing better that I like for my wine and cheese evening than a tasty Castello Creamy Blue Cheese.
It is a true star of cheeses. Born in 1969, from trying to merge the best qualities of Brie and Blue cheeses, it has a buttery texture and milky taste from the high proportion of cream used in its production.
You can use it on crackers or in your pizza or soup dish with your favourite wine.
It just melts in your mouth with a perfect touch of sharp that leaves you craving another bite.
Castello Creamy Blue Cheese, like no other blue cheese you’ve ever experienced. Find it at your local supermarket and try it today.
